PUT YOUR HANDS IN THE AIR AND SURRENDER!

I don’t know about you but I love a good John Wayne movie or even an episode of Gunsmoke with Matt Dillon. You know, where the good guys get the bad guy! They would sometimes say; “put your hands in the air and surrender!”
Jesus wants us to surrender our lives to Him, but not at gunpoint of course. He asks us with more love than we could ever imagine.
You might be one who is asking, why should I surrender to Him? What have I done?
The bible tells us in Romans 3:23 “For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” So we are all guilty.
Revelation 3:20 Jesus says “Behold I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door I will come in to Him…. “ It’s your heart that He’s knocking on. He desires for us to open our heart and let Him come in. He is not chasing us to haul us to jail like Matt Dillon. He is asking us to let Him come in so that He may set us free and give us salvation.
Salvation is a gift.! You could never earn it! Not by doing good deeds or being really, really nice. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works lest anyone should boast.”
Jesus defines salvation as being “Born Again.” In John 3:3 He says’ “….unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God” He continues on in John 3:16-17 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. vs 17. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
I pray today that you would open your heart to Jesus and let Him come in. Jesus gave His life for all of us.
He surrendered all to a cross with His arms held out as wide as they could be. No one took His life, He gave Himself to die for you.
So put your hands in the air and “PRAISE HIM!!
